A Haven Called Friendship

The haven of real friendship is where you don't have to be someone amazing, but you are someone special.

A real friendship is a haven, a place of safety and refreshment, of both acceptance and challenge.

The haven of real friendship is where you can be yourself and don't have to hide those bits that aren't so great behind the walls of your heart.

The haven of real friendship is where you feel safe to relax and just be, not do and not pretend.

The haven of real friendship is where you can recharge and reassess without condemnation or rejection.

The haven of real friendship is a place of honesty and truth, not just facts or fiction.

The haven of real friendship is a place of nurture and growth, a place to be watered and pruned.

The haven of real friendship is really found in Jesus, but sometimes you find it in His people, those who have also found that haven for themselves.

I love that Jesus calls us His friends and that He speaks of a haven, of rest.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 91:1

  1. I love your description of friendship as a haven. We all need those places where we don't have to be amazing but we are special. And I love Psalm 91 and the reminder that we always have a safe haven in God.

  2. As a military brat growing up, friends like that was hard to come by. But God blessed me with a dear friend in California that I have known almost 13 years this month. Wow I just count that and did not realize how long it has been. : ) she truly is a gift from God. #10 this week

    1. Thanks, Kristina, for your feedback! Real friends are hard to come by in life, I think, even when you don't move so much. So glad that you have such a haven!
