WORTHY

Who is this Jesus?

Who knew betrayal and abandonment,

rejection by mankind,

by His own kind,

who carried rejection on His body,

in His own heart,

so I would know acceptance

Who is this Jesus?

Who was crushed

for me, for my sin,

Who was crushed by the weight

of all that He carried,

on His body, in His heart,

Who was brought low so I could rise up,

from beneath what has crushed me

Who is this Jesus?

Who was stricken and afflicted,

despised and dishonoured,

misunderstood, misrepresented,

by His own,

beaten, mocked, spat on,

so I could live with honour

Who is this Jesus?

Who was punished for me

so that I won't be, and needn't be,

Who carried guilt and judgement,

shame and blame,

Who asks me,

'Why do you hold these still?

It is finished!'

Who is this Jesus?

Whose heart breaks

for the broken-hearted,

Who intercedes for me,

Who draws close, and says to me

'I'm sorry it's been so hard',

Who holds my tears in a bottle,

sacred and precious to Him.

Who is this Jesus?

broken and bruised,

pierced and bleeding,

A man familiar with pain,

familiar with my pain,

but also worthy of my pain,

Who redeems it all,

Who turns my pain plus passion

into His purposes

Who is this Jesus?

Who became the Lamb

killed on that mountain

slain, once, for all,

Jehovah Jireh, my Provider

Who is worthy, so worthy

of hands and heart lifted

in worship and praise

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and praise!”   Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honour and glory and power, for ever and ever!”  Rev 5:12-13

This song brings me undone every time I hear it.     From an anointed, modern psalmist, Mack Brock.

Bless the One who reigns forever

Bless the One who ransomed me

From death to life, there is no other

Bless the only risen King

The Lamb of glory

Poured out for us

At Calvary, Your body broken on the cross

Nothing would stop You.......................
