Who is this Father?
Who pursues gently but relentlessly,
who gives without taking,
who loves without condition,
who watches and waits continually
to speak, to touch, to embrace,
without malice or agenda

Who is this Father?
Who is gentle but not weak,
whose strength is governed by love,
immeasurable and immense love,
who is strong but not overpowering,
ready but waiting patiently
for my response
Who is this Father?
Who keeps surprising me
with His mercy,
He shows me about Himself,
about myself,
about others,
and all that's transpired thus far
Who is this Father?
Who meets my defences
with kindness,
expressed through His people
in unexpected and overwhelming ways,
whose kindness enables me
to let go of those defences,
to heal and to change
and to move forward
Who is this Father?
Who picks me up when I fall,
who doesn't set me up to fail,
who wants instead
to perfect and establish me
and set me on right pathways
Who is this Father?
who provides for me
in ways beyond my expectation,
whose kindness and willingness
to meet my needs
blows my expectations,
and restores my hope
Who is this Father?
whose truth and integrity
displace the lies
that have held me captive,
whose wisdom is priceless
and yet so freely given,
whose perspective is liberating
and lights my path
in increasing measure
Who is this Father?
who sent His Son,
to show me Who He is,
to show me the way back,
who gave His Son
to be the Way
so that I could come back
to Him

And earth has nothing I desire besides You.

For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His love for those who fear Him;
as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
As a father has compassion on His children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him............ Ps 103:11-13
