About Us

Hi and welcome to Glimpsing Glory. We want you to be inspired by the ideas that we share with you and hope that they make a real difference in your life, from changing your perspective on your current circumstance, through to changing your circumstance using God's Word and principles.

Sometimes God's Glory seems far away and distant from our everyday life but He longs to be present with us and has great ideas for changing our lives if we let Him.

Inspiring you with some of these ideas will be Kath, Lizzy and Anna.  Please take a moment to get to know us.  Sit down and sip a chai tea with Lizzy, a de-caf with Kath and a water with Anna as we share our hearts here.

Hi.  My name is Kath and I'm glad you're here.    I'm a wife and mother, and grandmother, and various other things, but also a daughter, of the King of Kings, though I often forget that in the midst of being a wife and mother and grandmother and daughter and friend .... and whatever else God puts in front of me.

As His daughter, I am learning to listen to His counsel.

Psalm 16:7  I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;

even at night my heart instructs me.

I've been married 30+ years to Dave and we're still learning what it looks like to have a Godly marriage.
I've been a mum for 27+ years and I'm still trying to figure out how to do that well, how to BE a mum.

We have five amazing girls who are all made in God's image and reflect different parts of His glory.   Our oldest is 21 years and 5 days older than our youngest, and our youngest is about 7 months older than our first grand-daughter.

There are currently five people living in our house - Dave and I and three of our daughters,  So, our house is full and busy and most days, looks like some kind of ordered chaos - sometimes more chaotic than ordered, sometimes more ordered than chaotic.   Rather than waiting till it's all sorted, I invite and expect to find God in the middle of our mess.

I've been homeschooling for 22+ years, and still passionately believe in it, even amidst many mistakes and failings and considerable criticism.   Having said that, I do not believe that homeschooling is the only way to raise or educate children well, so this blog is not about pushing homeschooling.   But, I am unashamedly a homeschooler and it has changed me and does flavour how I see things.

And as I begin this blog, we are into round 2 of homeschooling, with our 3 oldest girls finished and our youngest 2 starting.   So, I will be writing about homeschooling some of the time in the Heartfelt Homeschooling section.
My part in this blog  is to share first and foremost what God is doing in our lives - the glimpses of glory in our very mundane and often tiresome every-day-ness.  I will be sharing about what I can see of who He is and what He's doing, but also hanging on by faith to what I can't see, and there is a great deal more of that, I think

Psalm 27: 13-14 (Amp)
What, what would have become of me had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living!
Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring.   Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.

Hey, and I’m Elizabeth, drinker of chai tea but not lattes.  I have been married for seven years and we have two very busy daughters who love tea parties and glitter. The past year I’ve been learning to switch all our recipes over to grain free due to health issues and working on having an established routine as we begin to homeschool this year, and building a deeper foundation in God.
I also write over at Where Deep Calls to Deep
