Hey, We've Got Hay

by Kath
We are in the midst of a very serious drought here around this area of the state. Our ground is just bare dirt, with very little vegetation of any kind. We have been hand-feeding stock for many weeks. We need some hay. Dave and one of our daughters have spent a great deal of time looking for hay in the local region, scouting about and making endless phone calls, to no avail.
So, the other night, Dave decided to try something else. He said to the Lord, 'You know we need hay. You know we can't find any. So, now I'm going to wait on You to bring it to me.' The very next day, they hear bits and pieces of an ad on the local radio about someone selling hay, which they 'just happened' to be in the vehicle long enough to hear. I was able to find out about it by ringing the local radio station, and follow it up. Next week, there will be 100 bales of top quality lucerne and wheaten hay, delivered here. God is bringing hay to us!
We have seen it time and time again how God has provided the answers once we stop running around like anxious chooks, and just sit and wait on Him.
Why is it so hard to wait on Him, instead of trying to figure stuff out ourselves?
Psalm 33:20 We wait in hope for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.
