What does Shopping With Jesus LOOK like?

by Lizzy
We’re looking hard, searching, even scouring the op-shops for a car seat, been doing it for about a month.  Needing one for a baby who’s grown out of a capsule, for a trip to New Zealand, coming up fast . . . and then we walk into my favourite shop, in a hurry.  Never seen a car seat in this shop before, is it even worth looking?  And then the Mum I’m with, the one looking, spots it at the back of the shop.  No, they can’t sell it, hasn’t been checked . . . but they suppose, it could be given away, and into the car it buckles.
Shopping with Jesus . . . He provides.
I remember doing the same when I needed one, about halfway pregnant and looking at the prices of a new one $300 and walking into the op-shop seeing the same one with one less zero on the price tag.  It’s not that I couldn’t afford a new one, but surely there could be better things to spend that $270 on; give away maybe?   I drag it up the hill to the car and the seat, I discover at home it’s missing just the insert for a newborn, but then at church, another Mum giving the insert away.
“Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear . . . Your heavenly Father knows that You need them.  But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.  Matthew 6: 25a,32b & 33.

  1. I love seeing how the Lord provides! Although He often tests our faith (helping us to grow), He never forsakes us; that's for sure. :)

  2. No, He doesn't, and I love the little surprises He puts in our way to help us keep growing, and just because He loves us. Thanks for dropping by!
